Dennis and I were married 14 Aug 1979 in the Washington D.C.
temple. We spent two years in Provo. I taught school while
he did a masters in computer science. We have been living in
Arizona ever since. He works for Honeywell and I work as
full-time Mom. Our children are Meredeth, 16, Megan, 14, and
Joey, 10. I now teach Gospel Doctrine as well as volunteer
at the family history library one morning a week. I enjoy
reading the Valkeus to keep up with church activities in
Finland. I had a great mission! Finland is so incredibly
beautiful and the people were wonderful to us. I remember
the Church patriarch, Elder Eldred G. Smith, coming to
Jyväskylä to give patriarchal blessings because
there were no stakes and no patriarchs in Finland. Veli
Isokangas was the branch president while I was in
Jyväskylä and now he is a patriarch! I'll never
forget the thundering sound of the Finnish Mission Song
being sung at zone conference in the Haaga cultural hall or
my first sister's conference at Neitsytpolku or seeing
President Kimball at the area conference in 1976. Thanks to
Michelle Stott, Sirkka Parkkonen Junkkari, Merja Nieminen
Reiman, Janet Crockett Wilcox, Sandy Purser Ahkavan, Vicki
Burt Ware and Lois Wells Bobo for being great tovs and to
all the Finnish members for their faithfulness. I loved them
all and all the people we taught!

Vice President, Manager of Cash Management products at
Broadway National Bank. My wife, Jodi, and I are happy and
busy in church callings, kids' activities, professional
groups, etc.
Wow, what a great site! Who says surfing can't be a
productive activity?! Over the years, I've lost track of my
friends and fellow missionaries (easy to do living in San
Antonio...) from Finland and I'd love to hear from you. The
language is embarrassingly rusty and a few names have faded,
but the memories and love for that blessed 18 months of my
life is as strong as ever.
